Privacy policy

What we collect when you contact us, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Ignat Construction Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16480006, with its registered office at 12 Mount Pleasant Road, Dartford, England, DA1 1TH.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide what is collected and what happens to it.

If you have any question about your data, contact us at ignatconstruction@gmail.com or write to the registered office address above.

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote for and carry out building work. Specifically:

When you use the quote form

  • Your name and phone number: required, so we can reply.
  • Your email address: optional.
  • Your postcode and type of work: optional, so we can tell whether we cover you and roughly what's involved.
  • The job details you type: whatever you choose to tell us.

The form works by opening your own email application with those details filled in. Nothing is submitted to us until you press send in your email app, and the message travels through your own email provider.

When you phone, email or message us

  • Your name and contact details, and whatever you tell us about the work.
  • If you message us on WhatsApp, the content of that conversation. WhatsApp is provided by Meta and is subject to their own privacy policy.

When we quote or carry out work

  • The address of the property.
  • Photographs of the work area before, during and after. We use these to price the job and to keep a record of what was done.
  • Records of what was agreed, invoiced and paid.

We will always ask before using a photograph of your property on this website, on social media, or in any advertising. Photographs taken purely as a job record are never published without your agreement, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time.

When you pay online

If you pay a quote, deposit or invoice with the payment form on our website, the payment is handled by Revolut. The amount, the quote or invoice number, your name and your email are sent to Revolut to set up the payment, and Revolut keeps them with the payment. Your card or bank details are entered in Revolut's own payment window, not given to us. In our Revolut account we see the amount, the number you typed, your name and email, and whether the payment went through.

Automatically, when you visit the site

Our web host records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. This happens on essentially every website and is used for security and to keep the site running. We do not use it to identify you.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

UK GDPR requires us to have a lawful basis for using your data. Ours are:

What we doLawful basis
Reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote Legitimate interests: you asked us to get in touch, and we cannot answer without using your details
Carry out the work, invoice you, and deal with any follow-up Performance of a contract with you
Take a payment you choose to make online Performance of a contract with you
Keep financial and tax records Legal obligation: HMRC requires businesses to keep records
Publish a photograph of completed work Consent: which you give freely and can withdraw at any time
Defend a legal claim, if one is ever made Legitimate interests: protecting the business

We do not send marketing emails, we do not build mailing lists, and we do not sell, rent or trade your details to anybody. If you contact us for a quote and decide not to go ahead, we will not chase you with advertising afterwards.

4. Who we share it with

Only where it is genuinely necessary:

  • Our web host, which stores and serves this website.
  • Our email provider, which handles messages you send us.
  • Revolut, our payment provider, when you choose to pay online. The Revolut Pay button and payment window are run by Revolut under its own privacy and cookie policies.
  • Our accountant and HMRC, for invoices, tax and statutory records.
  • Subcontractors or suppliers working on your job, and then only the details they actually need, which is usually the site address and access arrangements.
  • Our insurers or legal advisers, if there is ever a claim or dispute.

We never sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

5. How long we keep it

Type of recordKept for
Enquiries that did not become a job12 months, then deleted
Quotes that were not accepted12 months, then deleted
Customer records, contracts and invoices6 years after the end of the work, the period HMRC requires
Job photographs6 years, as a record of the work carried out
Photographs published with your consentUntil you withdraw consent, or we stop using them

6. Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, no tracking and no visitor profiling. That is also why you have not been shown a cookie banner: there is nothing here to consent to.

If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.

If you choose to pay online, Revolut's payment button and window load from Revolut and may use their own cookies or similar storage to take the payment securely. That happens only after you press "Continue to payment", never just from visiting the site.

7. Third-party content on this site

For transparency, this site loads one thing from another company's servers on every visit. When your browser fetches it, that company receives your IP address. That is simply how the web works, but you should know it happens:

  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) supplies the typefaces used across the site.

It is not used to track you and we receive nothing back from it. It may involve a transfer of that technical data outside the UK, which Google's own privacy framework covers.

Only if you start an online payment does the page also load Revolut's payment button from merchant.revolut.com (see section 2, "When you pay online").

Every photograph on this site is served from our own domain, so viewing the images sends nothing to anyone else. The photographs are licensed stock rather than pictures of our own jobs.

8. How we protect your information

We keep the amount of personal data we hold deliberately small, protect the accounts and devices it sits on with strong passwords and two-factor authentication where available, and restrict access to people who need it to do the work. This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever occurred that posed a risk to your rights, we would report it to the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours and tell you directly where required.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your data is used, which is what this policy is for.
  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: have anything inaccurate corrected.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete your data, where we have no legal reason to keep it.
  • Restrict processing: ask us to pause using it while a concern is resolved.
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Data portability: receive your data in a transferable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent was the basis we relied on.

To exercise any of these, email ignatconstruction@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. It is free, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first so that we do not hand your information to the wrong person.

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling. Nothing about you is decided by a machine.

10. How to complain

Please raise it with us first. Most things turn out to be a misunderstanding we can fix quickly. If you are still unhappy, you can complain to the UK regulator:

Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page if what we do with your data changes, for example if we add a contact form that submits directly to us, or start using analytics. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
